De 21 a 30 de julho, em Quelimane, realizou-se um workshop intensivo no âmbito do AgroMeteo DataHub, iniciativa financiada pela @– Departamento de Biologia Ambiental (DBA).
➡️ 9 participantes – professores e estudantes – foram capacitados no uso de ferramentas críticas como QGIS, RStudio e Shiny, ganhando competências para analisar, processar e partilhar dados meteorológicos com impacto direto na agricultura local.
🙏 Um agradecimento especial aos formadores da Sapienza-DBA e à equipa da UniLicungo pelo empenho e dedicação em transformar este projeto numa realidade inovadora.

➡️ 9 partecipanti – docenti e studenti – sono stati formati all’uso di strumenti chiave come QGIS, RStudio e Shiny, acquisendo competenze per analizzare, elaborare e condividere dati meteorologici con un impatto diretto sull’agricoltura locale.

Yesterday, with a meeting held at the Syrian Ministry of Culture, the Syrian Heritage House project officially began. The initiative is developed by COSV with funding from the European Union.
The Minister of Culture, His Excellency Mohammad Yassin Al-Saleh, welcomed our delegation led by COSV’s General Director, Paolo Comoglio and COSV social business expert Samer al Aswad. The meeting was also attended by representatives of public institutions, cultural organizations, civil society actors, and local stakeholders committed to heritage protection. The Italian Ambassador to Damascus, Stefano Ravagnan, also took part in the event, reaffirming Italy’s interest in the preservation and promotion of Syrian cultural heritage.
The meeting offered a valuable opportunity to share the vision and goals of a project that seeks to enhance Syria’s cultural heritage as a living resource for sustainable development, dialogue, and social cohesion. The Syrian Heritage House, which will take shape within the Damascus Citadel, will be a space for training, craftsmanship, collective storytelling, and cultural participation.
A core element of the project is its participatory approach: in the coming weeks, we will launch consultation processes with a range of local stakeholders to co-design content, activities, and management models that reflect the needs and aspirations of the communities involved.
We move forward with conviction, believing that cultural heritage—when lived and shared—can become a driver of social and economic renewal for the entire country.

On November 8th, we had a meeting in the Ministry of Labour, Employment, and Social Dialogue of Montenegro together with Minister Naida Nišić, who met our representatives of COSV Montenegro and our partners from the Agency for Local Democracy, and the Network for Rural Development of Montenegro. Together we discussed about our project "Youth Social Economy Exploring Rural Development“ (YOUSEED) 🌱
Minister Naida Nišić, Biljana Vučetić, Milica Marđokić Sekulović, Dušan Stanović, and the project team—Suzana Stijović (COSV), Sanja Mugoša (COSV), Kerim Međedović (Agency for Local Democracy), and Ratko Bataković (Network for Rural Development Montenegro)—participated in the meeting 🤝
The participants presented project activities aimed at strengthening social entrepreneurship, particularly in rural areas. Minister Nišić expressed her support for the project, and attendees emphasized the need for collaboration with local organizations and research institutions. They also stressed the importance of connecting all key players—government institutions, non-governmental organizations, and youth associations—to ensure maximum efficiency in the sector 🍀
The meeting concluded with a decision to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry and COSV, which will formally confirm support for this initiative ✍🏼🖊

This week we kicked off Financial Literacy training for the 16 future Community Officers in Namanjavira and Alto Benfica Villages of the Kufungula Muae project! 💼📚
💡 Kufungula Muae – Opening Opportunities project, implemented by COSV and promoted by the World Food Programme in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, aims at empowering Mozambican youth and women, by creating employment opportunities, and improving income and working conditions 🇲🇿🙌
These 16 community officers are just the first of the 15,000 direct beneficiaries in this transformative project. 🌍
During this first phase of training, they covered:
1 – Family Budgeting 💰 – Planning for different life stages.
2 – Savings & Investment Strategies 💡 – Balancing short-term needs like food and shelter with long-term goals like education and retirement.
3 – Crisis Preparedness ⛑️ – Setting aside savings to manage unexpected shocks, focusing on leveraging insurance.
At the end of the training, our young leaders used Dave Ramsey’s 50/30/20 rule to create their personal family budgets! They’re taking this exercise home to involve their families, working together to set shared financial goals. 🏡💪
In short, this training is equipping them with the tools to transform not only their own lives but also those of their communities! 🌱💼
Let’s celebrate this step towards a brighter, more sustainable future for Mozambique’s youth! 🎉
